Wimbledon Chauffeur Service

28 June to 11 July 2027. All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon.

The Championships run from 28 June to 11 July 2027, and the All England Club has published that date without qualification. Fourteen days is long enough that no two visits are alike. Play starts at different times on different courts, the grounds close 45 minutes after the last match rather than at a set hour, and on the final weekend the show courts start earlier. Wimbledon has also changed how parking works: public spaces are now pre book only, with no on the day sales.

What a Chauffeur Changes About This Week

Wimbledon is the event in this set where the finish time is genuinely unknowable. The grounds close 45 minutes after the last match ends, and a five set match on Centre Court moves that by hours. Booking a car for a fixed collection time is therefore the wrong shape: an hourly booking that waits is the one that survives a long day. The second thing worth knowing is that the club has moved public parking to pre book only with no sales on the day, so arriving by car and hoping to park is no longer a plan. Being driven to Gate 4 and collected there sidesteps both problems, and it is the point the club itself designates for drop off and pick up.

Planning Your Arrival

Tell us which gate you are heading for and roughly when you expect to leave, and treat the second one as an estimate rather than a time. We set down at Gate 4 outside the Museum, which is the point the All England Club publishes for drop off and pick up. If you are queuing rather than holding a ticket, the Queue forms in Wimbledon Park and the club publishes its opening time separately for each Championships, so check the year you are attending rather than assuming last year’s. Southfields is the closer station at about 15 minutes on foot.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Wimbledon 2027?

The Championships run from Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July 2027. The All England Club publishes that on its future dates page without any provisional caveat, and it has also published 2028, 2029 and 2030 on the same page.

Where can a car drop me at Wimbledon?

At Gate 4, outside the Museum. That is the drop off and pick up point the All England Club publishes. Which gate you then use to enter depends on your direction of travel, with Gates 1 and 3 for arrivals from Southfields to the north.

Can I park at Wimbledon on the day?

Not in the public car parks. The club has changed practice so that spaces must be pre booked and no on the day sales take place, the one exception being the park and ride at Morden Park on the A24. Car parks also close no later than an hour after the grounds do.

What time will I need collecting from Wimbledon?

Nobody can tell you in advance, which is the honest answer. The grounds close 45 minutes after the final match finishes, and a long match on Centre Court moves that by hours. Book by the hour so the car waits rather than committing to a collection time you cannot predict.
