Silverstone is a circuit in open Northamptonshire countryside that has to absorb a city’s worth of people down a small number of A roads, and the 2026 figures show why the day you attend changes the journey completely. Thursday admitted 72,000 people and Sunday 175,000, so the same postcode is two different problems depending on your ticket. Silverstone runs park and ride sites and shuttle buses from towns across the region for the Grand Prix, and it publishes that arrangement close to the event rather than months out. Until the 2027 date exists, the useful thing to plan is the shape: arrive earlier than the distance suggests, and expect the exit to take longer than the approach on the race day itself.

Silverstone has not published either the 2027 date or its 2027 travel arrangements, and the two usually arrive together, so anything specific about park and ride sites or road closures for that year would be invention on our part. The circuit sits on the A43 between the M1 and the M40, roughly 60 minutes south of Birmingham and 90 minutes north of central London, and Silverstone notes that roadworks on the A43 between Towcester and the circuit can add time.
